I’ve been trying to go out more lately. Last weekend, I gathered up Erik (my best friend/roommate) for some moral support, got dressed up, and headed down to the Noc Noc for what I thought was Industrial/Rivet/EBM night. I was surprised to find out, once we got there, that it was in fact Gothic/Darkwave night and the music was lame and slow, so we stayed for a little while to hang out with some friends before heading up to The Vogue where my friend Doug (also known as DJ Eternal Darkness) was spinning some bouncy crunchy oontz-y music that I could totally groove to.
So, tonight, we were a little bored, so we went down to the Vogue for New Wave/Synthpop night and had a blast. Erik couldn’t stop dancing, every time he wanted to sit down another song would come on that he had to dance to. I didn’t dance so much but I had a good time anyway just being out and grooving to the music.
I’m digging this whole “going out” thing. I always like going out, and I almost always have fun, but I really don’t like going out by myself, so Erik’s new-found appreciation of “social functions” is pretty handy. Damn I’m in a good mood!
